Sachin Tendulkar lends support to 560 children from economically weaker backgrounds

New Delhi: Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has once again expressed his generosity towards underprivileged children. Sachin recently joined hands with an NGO to support 560 tribal children from the economically backward sections.

Sachin has partnered with ‘NGO Parivaar’ which has built Seva Kutirs in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh Sehore district. Children from villages like Sewaniya, Beelpati, Khapa, Nayapura and Jamunjheel in Sehore district are now getting nourished meals and education with the help of Tendulkar’s foundation.

“This initiative by Sachin is testimony to his concern towards tribal children in Madhya Pradesh who have been plagued by malnutrition and illiteracy,” a statement read. Ever since his retirement from cricket, he has been highly active in working for the cause of children.

Tendulkar’s work in direction of the reason for kids, particularly to the marginalized and the not so economically prosperous part of the society. As a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF, the batsman has regularly spoken about interventions like ‘Early Childhood Development’.

He has been associated with several initiatives for children, from financial to educational. In December 2019, Tendulkar through the ‘Spreading Happiness In Diya Foundation’, arranged solar lighting systems to provide green energy and power to run digital classrooms and sports facility, and other activities for the students at Shri Gadge Maharaj Ashram School, Bhivali in Mumbai.
