Kolkata: Real Kashmir bagged their maiden IFA Shield title beating George Telegraph 2-1 in the final at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday (December 19). This will mark as one of the proud days in the history of Indian football as a team from Kashmir won one of the most prestigious trophies in the country.
The Snow Leopards looked good since the start of the tournament and had thumped Mohammedan Sporting 4-0 in the semifinals.
Lukeman, who scored a hat-trick in the last match, opened the scoring converting from the spot in the 37th minute. Gautam Das equalised for George Telegraph in the 49th minute. Mason Robertson gave the soccer punch in the 59th minute creating history for the visitors.
This will be remembered in the future that a team from Kashmir bagged such a success. Certainly a proud moment for every Indian football.
