Liverpool: Manchester City secured a 3-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Thursday (February 18) to consolidate their lead atop the Premier League table. With this win means City moved ten points clear of second-placed Manchester United.

Everton failed to threaten Pep Guardiola’s side. City forced the hosts to fall deep and defend in the early stages of the game. They broke the deadlock when Phil Foden latched on to a loose ball and drilled his shot into the back of the net on 32 minutes.

Everton were rewarded for loose defending of the visitors as they equalised barely five minutes after falling behind. The ball fell kindly for full-back Lucas Digne, whose rebound was well placed by Richarlison on 37 minutes.

Thereafter Manchester City came out all guns blazing in the second half, as they looked eager to restore their lead and relentlessly attacked and constantly probed which finally paid of when Riyad Mahrez curled in a beautifully-struck shot off the post and into the net on 63 minutes. Bernardo Silva then sealed the game as he drilled in a shot past Jordan Pickford on 77 minutes.
