Manchester United start favourites against FC Copenhagen

Cologne: Manchester United have the upper hand when they face FC Copenhagen in a UEFA Europa League quarterfinal on Monday night. Phil Jones, Luke Shaw and Axel Tuanzebe didn’t travel with the team that took the flight to Germany for the tie at Stadion Koln. Rather youthful midfielders James Garner and Ethan Galbraith were among those lucky ones.

While David de Gea has drawn criticism in recent times due to his performance lately, it remains to be seen whether Sergio Romero stands under the sticks or not. “That’s an obvious question,” Manchester United Ole Gunner Solskjaer replied when he was inquired on who is supposed to compete against Danes.

“Because I think I must be the most privileged manager in the world with the goalkeeping department we have here with Sergio, David and we’ve got Dean Henderson coming back as well. That’s three top, top goalkeepers there.

“This Europa League, this season, has shown again how important Sergio has been to us and, for me, David has also been always been performing there, so we’ll see what we do for the rest of the season. It’s difficult, yeah of course it is, but it is a nice problem to have,” he said.

Henderson, who was under loan at Sheffield United, is no more a part of this squad. Solskjaer was said to have fringed by Brandon Williams during the press conference and he arose to ascertain the defender shall begin, probably in the left-back role during Shaw’s absence.
