New Delhi: Former India captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly is highly impressed with wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant’s heroic performance, said he is ‘obsessed’ with him. And calls the swashbuckling youngster
‘an absolute match-winner.’

“All are fantastic players. As president of the BCCI, I shouldn’t pick one over the other. I enjoy Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s batting. I am obsessed with Rishabh Pant because I think he is just an absolute match-winner. I like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. I like Shardul Thakur because has got guts,” said Sourav Ganguly after he was asked to pick his favourite India cricketers on a interactive Youtube chat show.

Be it in the era of Sunil Gavaskar or Virat Kohli, India always had enough talent to provide a good supply line in every generation, Ganguly reckons.

“There is immense cricketing talent in India. When (Sunil) Gavaskar was there people used to think what will happen after him, then came (Sachin) Tendulkar, (Rahul) Dravid, Anil Kumble. When Tendulkar, Dravid left Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant took over. There is so much talent for cricket in India that I think it will produce world beaters in every generation.” he added.

The 48-year-old who had suffered a mild cardiac arrest earlier in January also gave a positive update about his health. Said he is now fit and fine as well and has returned to work after undergoing angioplasty earlier this year. “I am absolutely fit and fine and back to work, doing everything as I did before.”
