EPL: Manchester United victorious against West Ham; Manchester City held

Southampton: Manchester City came back from behind and were held to a shocking 1-1 draw by Southampton in English Premier League on Saturday ( January 22). Manchester United on the other hand,scrapped past West Ham United at Old Trafford.

Kyle Walker-Peters wasted no time to score and give his team the lead after just seven minutes. Aymeric Laporte, however scored the equaliser on 65 minutes to ensure Pep Guardiola’s side walked away with a point from the fixture.

Walker-Peters goal scored his first goal in Premier League with a beautiful finish. He took the ball, as he entered the box and achieved a top left corner finish. Whereas City equalised when Kevin de Bruyne’s freekick was headed in by Laporte.

“I think we played really well and maybe deserved more, but if we don’t score more than one it’s very difficult,” Laporte said after the game. While for Manchester United Marcus Rashford scored during the injury time to collect all three points against West Ham.

Ronaldo played the ball to Edinson Cavani who then cut it back to the Rashford and set him up for a tap in. After a VAR check to see whether Cavani was offside, the goal stood.

With the said victory, United moved to the number fourth position in the league table for the time being. Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal are also in contention after playing less number of games.
