The Blue Tigresses are currently ranked 56th in the FIFA Rankings, up to three places from their previous position of 59th. On the international level, the Indian women’s team has been doing exceptionally well in recent years, and they are far ahead of the men’s team on the basis of rankings. Their rise in the rankings follows strong showings in recent friendlies against Egypt and Jordan.
The Indian women’s squad won both of their friendlies against Jordan and Egypt in April when they were last in play. They won both games by a single goal and displayed excellent quality and compactness throughout.
