FC Barcelona doesn’t consider Luis Suarez’s move to ATM, a good ‘idea’

Barcelona : Luis Suarez was reportedly close to join Atletico Madrid, FC Barcelona’s one of the main title rival. According to sources, the Uruguayan agreed terms with the Atletico Madrid was about to join the side as a free agent.

FC Barcelona and Suarez decided to terminate his contract, which kept him at the club till 2021. As of which, Suarez was a free agent. Atletico sold Alavaro Morata to Juventus and were keen on signing the Uruguayan striker from their rival club.

During, the signing of Suarez it was included in his contract that he could not sign for certain European giants which included Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City or Manchester United, according to sources. Atletico Madrid were not on the list back then.

Certain members of FC Barcelona are now considering that a move of Suarez to one of their domestic foe might not be a very good idea.

After being deemed surplus to the club’s need, Suarez got offers from Juventus and Atletico Madrid. The 33 year old striker preferred a move to the Wanda Metropolitano. Although the deal might not go through as easily as it looks.

In spite of verbal agreement, no paper works has been signed yet as Suarez and FC Barcelona first need to come to an agreement, before the striker can move forward. In case this deal doesn’t go through, Edinson Cavani, is another alternative Madrid is looking forward to, as he became a free agent after leaving PSG.
