Jaipur: Track and field athlete Kashvir Vasani from Gujarat met with a road accident and lost his life near Jaipur on Sunday(November 8).
As per reports, the 25-year-old along with two youngsters were on their to Rajasthan to sell guava. While returning, they met with an accident when their Bolero pick-up van rammed a truck near Jaipur on Sunday.
“As they get a high price for their produce, the villagers of Ranpur in Botad district sold their fruits in Rajasthan. While Kashvir and his friend Aakash died on the spot, another friend Pravin succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital,” Kashvir’s childhood coach Munnaf Bukhari told Ahmedabad Mirror.
Vasani came into the national limelight with his record-breaking, 1:22.40 seconds run in the 600m at National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) in 2015, at the age of 13. However, his talent virtually faded into oblivion.
