Manchester: England pacer Stuart Broad announced his engagement with singer Mollie King on the New Year’s day Friday (January 1). Both of them took their own social media handles to announce the big news as they started 2021 on the finest possible note.

Broad and Mollie got engaged after a gorgeous walk in the countryside together. The couple also posted the same picture while informing the good news.

In the picture, Mollie could be also seen showing off her sparkling engagement ring while kissing the England cricket star. “A thousand times yes!” wrote Mollie before adding, “I still can’t believe it, the most magical start to the new year! I can’t wait to spend all my years with you @stuartbroad.”

Stuart Broad, on the other hand wrote, “The best way to start 2021.”

Stuart Broad and Mollie’s love story dates back to when they were first romantically linked in March 2018. But just five months later in August that year, their relationship seemed to have hit the rock bottom as they broke up. However, it did not take the love birds long to get back together. Later, they revealed they had given their love a second chance a month later.

Recently, Mollie has expressed that she felt anxious about Broad flying to Sri Lanka to play for England. “So it’s 2021! If you’re anything like me you might be going into this year feeling a bit anxious and uncertain. I often get the January blues and this year is going to be especially tough with everything that’s going on.”

“@stuartbroad also goes away tomorrow with cricket which is always a mix of feeling excited for him but knowing I’m going to miss him so much,” Mollie wrote on Instagram.

Though, Broad had a good tour for Tests in 2020. The veteran pacer ended the year as the highest wicket-taker in Tests. He picked up 38 wickets in eight Tests and also crossed the 500-wicket mark in Tests. The right-arm year was later nominated for Sports Personality Of the Year but miss out to Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton.
