Mumbai: Former Indian all-rounder Suresh Raina, was reportedly arrested following a raid at the Dragonfly Club near the Mumbai airport. He was arrested for violating COVID-19 norms.
According to a report in India Today, Raina, and actor Sussanne Khan, singer Guru Randhawa including seven staff members of the Mumbai club were among the 34 people arrested by the police for violating the COVID-19 prevention norms.

The police action came after the Maharashtra government on Monday (December 21) had declared a night curfew in municipal corporation areas as a precautionary step amid growing concerns over a new coronavirus variant spreading in Britain apart from putting restrictions on flight movements.
The senior officer of the Sahar police station said, “Singer Guru Randhawa and cricketer Suresh Raina were among those who were arrested and booked for violating the norms. The accused were later released on bail. Those arrested were booked under relevant Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections, including 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), he added.
The Maharashtra government has imposed a series of restrictions on public activity in the state from December 22 to January 5. According to an official statement, it has also been decided to compulsorily put in institutional quarantine for 14 days those who arrive at the state’s airports from European and West Asian countries.
