Colombo : Sri Lanka defeated India by 110 runs at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, in 3rd ODI, thereby winning the 3 Match ODI series 2-0. This is the 1st time Sri Lanka won a Bilateral ODI series against India since 1997. Avishka Fernando (96), Dunith Wellage (5/27) played pivotal role in this win.
Batting 1st , Sri Lanka top order with likes of Avishka Fernando (96), Kusal Mendis (59), Pathum Nissanka (45) hammered Indian bowlers. However, their middle order disappointed. A finishing cameo of Kamindu Mendis (23*) brought Sri Lanka to 248-7 (50).
Riyan Parag was India’s star bowler with 3/54.
In 2nd innings, chasing 249 runs, Rohit Sharma (35) gave India a good start. However, after Rohit’s dismissal on 53 runs, Indian middle order collapsed like a pack of cards in front of Dunith Wellage (5/27).
India got all out on 138 runs, thereby losing it by 110 runs.
Avishka was adjourned the Man of the match whereas, Wellage as player of the series.
