Sourav Ganguly undergoes fresh angioplasty, two more stents implanted

Kolkata: BCCI chief and former India captain Sourav Ganguly underwent angioplasty again on Thursday (January 28). He is stable now and under observation, according to a media release from Apollo Gleneagles Hospital where he is being analysed.

“Dr Aftab Khan and the team comprising Dr Ashwin Mehta, Dr Devi Shetty, Dr Ajit Desai, Dr Saroj Mondal and Dr Saptarshi Basu successfully performed angioplasty on Mr Sourav Ganguly… on January 28 and two stents were placed. The procedure was uneventful. Mr Ganguly is stable and under close observation,” said the media release issued on Thursday evening.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Ganguly after the angioplasty. “I spoke to him and his family. He is doing fine and I can only wish him a speedy recovery,” she stated after thanking the team of doctors looking after Ganguly.

Ganguly was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday (January 27) after complaining of feeling unwell at home where he was recovering after being discharged from Woodlands Hospital on January 7.
