Sheffield : Tottenham Hotspur secured a 3-1 win over Sheffield United on Sunday (17 January), as Serge Aurier, Harry Kane and Tanguy Ndombele registered their names on the scoresheet for Spurs and David McGoldrick scored the only goal for Sheffield.

Spurs didn’t waste any time getting on the scoresheet when Son Heung-Min swinged a corner into the box and Aurier headed it past Aaron Ramsdale just five minutes into the game, as Spurs wasted no time taking the lead.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg played the ball to Kane through to the edge of the box and his right-footed shot went straight into the bottom corner on 40 minutes, hence doubling the lead of Jose Mourinho’s men.

McGoldrick clawed one back for the home side on 59 minutes, a fast-paced header into the right corner of Hugo Lloris’ goal although it did not help him team much as they faced their 16th loss of the season.

Ndombele received the ball from Steven Bergwijn with his back to the goal with several Sheffield United defenders behind him. He spectacularly flicked the ball over his head and into the far corner of Ramsdale’s goal on 62 minutes. The France international scored Spurs’ third of the day, which was much of a individual brilliance
