Liverpool : The much awaited clash between Liverpool and Manchester United ended in a goalless draw. Both the teams, created a few chances but couldn’t make the ultimate finish in favour of their team. Alisson Becker had to make two big saves in the last 15 minutes, to keep in his team from a potential loss.

The front three of Liverpool, especially Mo Salah, looked tired. Thiago Alcantara was the most impressive player on the pitch, he looked very sharp in his area and was one of the most effective player for his team. Although Liverpool enjoyed the majority of the possession and shots on goal, United were pretty controlled in defence and also threatened with their counterattacks. United keeper David De Gea thwarted Thiago’s long range attempt as he pushed the ball away on 78 minutes.

Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson made two vital saves in the second half. The Brazilian saved a close-range effort from Bruno Fernandes, on 75 minutes with his feet, thereby denying the Portuguese midfielder. Then Alisson also did well to keep out a blast from inside the box by Paul Pogba.

“We didn’t play well enough. We didn’t impose ourselves on the game, especially first half. We grew into the game and towards the end you felt it was there for us to win. We created two massive chances and there were two brilliant saves by the keeper,” Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remarked.

“We’re a bit disappointed we haven’t taken the three points. We did enough to win the game, especially first half – a lot of the ball, creating chances, just couldn’t find the back of the net really. They had one or two chances, to be fair to them, but overall I felt we were the better team,” said Jordan Henderson.

Liverpool’s winless streak at home extended to four games, this the longest they have gone without a win since February 2017. On the other hand, United extended their unbeaten streak in Premier League to 12 games which also took them to the top of the table.
