The opening day of the IPL 2022 Player Auction saw money being splashed mercilessly across 74 players who were bought by 10 franchises in Bengaluru. The teams have so far spent above Rs 388 crore collectively that included 20 players who got more than USD 1 million (Rs 7.53 crore as per Saturday’s exchange rates).
As many as 10 players in got more than Rs 10 crore while biggies Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings spent over Rs 10 crore for the first time in an IPL auction. Mumbai Indians’ Ishan Kishan is by far the costliest player so far with a price tag of Rs 15.25 crores in this auction.
