Chennai: Mumbai Indians rewrote the same script of their last match as they beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs in the Indian Premier League on Saturday (April 17). Rahul Chahar (3/19), Trent Boult(3/28) and Jasprit Bumrah fired all cylinders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium helping Rohit Sharma’s side successfully defend a total of 151.
Sunrisers were bundled out for 137 in 19.5 overs after Kieron Pollard’s cracking 22-ball 35 helped Mumbai reach 150/5 in 20 overs. The victory sent them to the top of the table with 4 points.
Another tremendous performance from our bowlers, another tremendous victory!

Chasing 151, Hyderabad were off to a flyer thanks to a Jonny Bairstow show. The burly Englishman smashed a 22-ball 43 setting up a good base. Skipper David Warner also looked good but a moment of sheer brilliance from Hardik Pandya sent him home for 36.
Despite the good start, the middle order collapsed miserably courtesy of Chahar. With a lack of big hitters in their side, Hyderabad failed to control the tempo of the game ultimately falling short of a below par target tasting their third defeat in a row.
Earlier, Mumbai too started well with Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma but a rash strike from the skipper got himself dismissed for 32. Suryakumar Yadav had an outing for a short span after which runs pretty dried up drastically.
Rashid Khan in those middle overs ran havoc despite going wicketless with his fellow Afghan teammate Mujeeb-ur-Rahman (2/29) and Vijay Shankar (2/19) complementing him well. However, a late flourish from veteran Pollard sent Mumbai to 105/5.
