IND vs NZ, 2nd Test, Day 2 : Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja put India in commanding position

Mumbai : The Day 2 of 2nd Test between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, saw Shubman Gill (90) & Ravindra Jadeja (4/52) display their class in respective department to put India in a commanding position to win the Match.

India started the Day 2 with 84-4. Gill (90) & Risabh Pant (60) carried the innings forward with 96 runs partnership.

However, after Pant’s dismissal, Indian Batting saw a collapse from other end. Gill’s valiant efforts till end and Washington Sundar (38*) managed to take India to 263 runs, with 26 rune lead.

Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel picked 5-fer to rattle Indian Batting quickly.

India dominated New Zealand with Ball. Akashdeep Singh opened the proceedings with cleaning up skipper Tom Latham (1) in very 1st over.

The experienced duo Ravindra Jadeja (4/52) & Ravi Ashwin (3/63) picked up 7 wickets between themselves to restrict Black Caps to 171-9 at the end of Day 2. Will Young (51) played a lone hand but got less support from other end.

New Zealand with 171-9 lead by 143 runs at the end of Day 2. Ajaz Patel and William O’Rourke are at the crease.
