Ahmedabad: Rajasthan Royals (RR) marched to the finals of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. A herculean batting display by Jos Buttler slammed to a clinical 7-wicket win for Rajasthan Royals.

Batting first, Royal Challengers Bangalore talisman Virat Kohli hit a six. However, Trent Boult caught Virat Kohli. Rajat Patidar, joined skipper Faf du Plessis at the crease. The duo played two exceptional shots for four in the final over of the powerplay as Royal Challengers Bangalore moved to 46/1.

A lately fifty partnership was up for the second wicket but Rajasthan Royals kept tight with the ball. Royal Challengers Bangalore were at 74/1 at the halfway mark. Obed McCoy dismissed du Plessis to put an end to the partnership. Glenn Maxwell made an immediate impact with a straight six against Ashwin right after his arrival.

Maxwell crunched 15 runs from Chahal’s with a four and six each. However a brilliant catch by Obed McCoy put an end to Maxwell’s quick-fire knock. Patidar reached his fifty with a maximum. Rajat Patidar was caught at long-off against Ashwin. McCoy dismidded Mahipal Lomror and RCB were 146/5 with two overs to go. Prasidh Krishna dismissed Karthik and Wanindu Hasaranga on consecutive deliveries. Only three runs were conceded in the final over of the innings, bowled by Obed McCoy. McRoy took his third wicket, scalping Harshal Patel while Royal Challengers Bangalore posted 157/8 in the first innings.

Chasing 158 for Rajasthan Royals, Yashasvi Jaiswal hit two sixes and a four in the first over. Jos Buttler at the other end punched Siraj with two fours and a massive six. Rajasthan Royals added 19 off the fifth over. Losing Jaiswal off to Josh Hazlewood Rajasthan Royals were at 67/1 at the end of the powerplay.

Buttler reached his fifty with a four and was joined by skipper Sanju Samson. The duo ckept the runs flowing for Rajasthan Royals. At the halfway stage at they were at103/1. A fifty partnership was up for the second wicket, but Hasaranga stumped Sajnu.

The equation was down to run-a-bal lwith Devdutt Padikkal joining Buttler at the crease. After a couple of dizzy overs, Buttler clubbed two sixes against Hasaranga. Buttler reached his fourth century of the season to finish the game with a maximum as Rajasthan Royals successfully chased down the target with 11 balls to spare.
