Verona: Juventus failed to finish off their chances resulting in a 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona in Serie A which put Andrea Pirlo’s side in doubt for challenging the title race. The hosts held the Bianconeri at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi on Saturday (February 27) displaying a spirited performance.
Cristiano Ronaldo was on target for the defending champions while Antonin Barak netted one for the hosts. The result gave league leaders Inter Milan the chance to pull 10 points clear of Juventus when they play mid-table Genoa at the San Siro on Sunday (February 28).
Despite a scratchy first-half, Ronaldo broke the deadlock shortly after the break after Federico Chiesa found him with a perfect cross. However, the defending champions felt the absence of a few first-team players especially the defensive duo of Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini. The visitors failed to make the most of the opportunities they had which hurt them later. Antonin Barak headed home the equalizer for the hosts to deny Juventus a win, sharing spoils.
