Kolkata: Due to positive Covid cases detected in the Army Red team, the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 130th Durand Cup has canceled the quarterfinal match between Army Red and FC Bengaluru United (FCBU) slated for Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Kalyani stadium.
As a result, the Army Red team opted to withdraw from the tournament, giving FCBU a bye into the Semi-finals.
All decisions were made with the health and safety of the players and officials in mind, as well as the tournament’s continuity and success.
The Durand Cup 2021 has reached the quarterfinal stage, with eight teams competing in four quarterfinal matches.
