Florida:  Former NXT champion Adam Cole, who lost his precious NXT title earlier to Keith Lee a month ago had given a statement that he is ready to do ‘whatever it takes to win it back’.

During an inclusive interview with India Today Adam Cole, who had an unbreakable record of having the NXT title for the longest period that is 403 days from June 2019 to July 2020 asserted, “I absolutely miss holding the title. I had become so attached to being an NXT Champion. It had become a part of who I was. I almost feel naked without it. It’s such a bizarre feeling.”

But the former NXT champion strengthened that though he always knew that he might lose the title someday or the other, the loss had simply provoked him to become more adamant to get back his own title. “When I lost it (the title) , it made me realise how badly I want it back. Not only be the longest reigning champion, but be a two-time champion. That’s the goal.”

SUMMERSLAM WEEKEND

He is currently focusing on another battle that had taken social media to another level of thunderstorm.

NXT Take Over: XXX is all geared for ‘Summer Slam’ weekend and Adam Cole is leading towards a vicious battle against Pat McAfee that would turn out to be the most important match for his whole career so far. Talking about the battle and the responses of it on social media, he announced, “It’s been a wild ride of emotion and reaction across the board. It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before. My sense is that the pro-wrestling world and the fans are on my side. But there is so much passion around this fight that I look forward to it.”

When investigated a bit more on what he thought about his opponent, the former champion had been very explicit, “At the end of the day, I don’t like Pat McAfee. I finally told him how I felt (in a video that has gone viral by now). He didn’t like what I said. But people can see why I felt disrespected or was disrespected.”

When he spoke on how the fans distinguish between him and Shawn Michaels, a former legend of the sport, Cole asserted, “For me, he is the absolute greatest professional wrestler of all time. He has inspired pretty much my entire generation. So to be compared to him is an absolute privilege.”

‘I WOULD LOVE TO VISIT INDIA’

Adam Cole had also spoken about how WWE had ‘grown massively’ in India in the time span of three years. He said that his team always had shown him the responses from the Indian fans on Twitter and other social media handles and he expressed that he is perplexed seeing how much love and passion people in India have shown towards this sport and to him as well.

“Getting to travel the world is another privilege that I have with this sport, and I have been to many places to fight, but unfortunately have not been able to come to India yet. If I was given a choice, I would love to come to India and have a fight here. Maybe soon, it may happen.”
