
Kolkata: Rajasthan United surprise Indian Super League biggies ATK Mohun Bagan. Gyanmar Nikum steals the match for Rajasthan United in extra time from a cross.
The opening match for ATK Mohun Bagan became dull in front of Rajasthan United FC at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK). Kiyan Nasiri gave a late first half lead in the 43rd minute which Amangeldiev equalised in the added time.
The second half started with a fantastic goal from Ashique Kuruniyan. However the joy was short lived as Lalremsanga Fanai tied it all up again in the 61st minute. Just when everyone thought that the game was going to be a stalemate, Arunachal’s first ever player to play top flight football in India, Nikum slotted one past ATK Mohun Bagan keeper Arsh Shaikh to create history.

In the other match of the day Army Red hold Chennayin FC to a 2-2 draw. The game intensified in extra time as two goals from each team was scored.
The first 45 minutes turned out to be a battle for midfield between the teams which resulted each other to play out on the wings. Army Reds took the lead with Lethaolen Khongsai but was neutralised by Julius Duker, a minute before regulation time.
The second half brought the goals. Chennayin came out all guns blazing and Vanspaul hit the woodwork in the 62nd minute. Chennayin finally got their goal in the 89th minute from Duker who made no mistake with a towering header.

Edwin Vanspaul struck in the fourth minute of added time to put Chennayin ahead. However, Liton Shil to equalises to turn the game. Surprisingly all four goals of the match came off corners.
