IND vs ZIM, 2nd ODI: Shardul Thakur, Sanju Samson shine as India beat Zimbabwe to clinch series

Harare : India defeat Zimbabwe by 5 wickets in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday.

Opting to bowl, Indian pacer Shardul Thakur gifted a fine figure of 3 for 38 in 7 overs. India wrapped out the hosts for 161 runs within 38.1 overs.
For Zimbabwe, Sean WIlliams proved to be the top run-scorer with a 42-run knock, while Ryan Burl followed him with an unbeaten 39.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Deepak Hooda grabbed a wicket each.

In the second innings, Indian batsmen, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan couldn’t score much. Kishan’ struggling knock hault with 6 runs, while Gill played a respectable knock of 33.

Opener Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul went the pavilion, before India could manage 50.The poor condition was well handled by Sanju Samson who remained unbeaten on 47 runs with a strike rate of 110.26 .

With 20 runs coming from extras, India managed to clinch the match with 5 wickets and more than 150 balls remaining.

India leads with two win against Zimbabwe in the three match ODI series.
