Barcelona: Barcelona former player and club legend Xavi Hernandez is set to be announced as the head coach of the club replacing Ronald Koeman as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. The intricate details of the contract are yet to be disclosed.

Barcelona disposed Ronald Koeman off the services, last weekend after the disastrous loss against Rayo Vallecano although Koeman was sitting in the hot seat from quite a long time. Xavi’s recent stint with Al Saad was enough to prove him to be perfect for the job. Xavi’s departure was announced by the Dubai club.

Xavi had been absolutely amazing as a player for the Catalan club recieving a hoard of trophies and as a coach he has been doing quite a great job even taking the team to the semifinal of the AFC Champions League in 2018.

Xavi taking up the managerial role at Barcelona would open the pathways of a lot of returns in Barcelona including Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi who had shown keen desires for the return. However, as Luis Suarez said early Xavi might have to make some difficult decisions as a boss if he needs results with the team.
