Manchester: Wayne Rooney’s 11-year-old son Kai has signed for Manchester United. Kai is the oldest of his four sons, Rooney congratulated his son who followed his footsteps by signing a contract at his father’s former club.
Rooney took to social media and wrote, “Proud day. Kai signing for @manchesterunited. Keep up the hard work son.” His wife, Coleen Rooney also wrote on social media: “Special night….. congratulations Kai. I love you and I am so proud of you. Keep trying your best”.
The former English striker scored 253 goals in 559 games and has won five Premier League titles, one Champions League, one Europa League, one FA Cup and three League Cups. In 13 years at Old Trafford, he broke Bobby Charlton’s record and became United’s record goalscorer.
Rooney signed for United in 2004 coming from his boyhood club Everton and left in 2017 when returned to Goodison Park for a season thereafter moving to DC United.
