KOLKATA:- Barcelona coach Xavi Flick is cautious ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Red Star Belgrade, praising the Serbian side’s attacking prowess.
Belgrade boasts an impressive domestic record, winning 12 of 13 matches with a goal difference of 35. However, their European form tells a different story, with heavy losses to Inter Milan and Monaco.
Flick acknowledged the contrasting performances but emphasized Belgrade’s attacking capabilities. “They’re good in attack, and we need to be prepared,” he said.
Barcelona seeks to continue their winning streak, having triumphed in 11 of 12 La Liga matches and recently defeating Young Boys and Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

However, Flick is aware of Barcelona’s away struggles in the competition, with only one win in their last five matches. “We can’t dwell on the past; we must focus on the present,” he stressed.
As a former Bayern Munich coach, Flick has experienced Champions League success and is determined to replicate it with Barcelona. “We have to work hard and focus on our goals. Many teams share the same dream of winning the Champions League.”
Flick’s squad is ready for the challenge, and the German coach is confident in his team’s abilities. “We want to be successful in the Champions League, and we’ll take it one match at a time.”
The match kicks off at 2 pm on Wednesday at Red Star Stadium in Belgrade, promising an intense encounter between two ambitious teams.
Barcelona aims to build momentum, while Red Star Belgrade seeks to upset the Spanish giants on their home turf.
