Kolkata : According to reports, 5 times IPL Champions – Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, along with 2022 IPL Champion Gujarat Titans are in rece to sign Indian star spin bowling all rounder Washington Sundar.
Sundar has the capability of bowling off spin , besides being economical, he breaks crucial partnerships. He also has the ability to score quick fire runs both at middle order or at the opening slot.
“Sundar is keen to go into the auction pool. At the moment, at least three teams – Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings – have shown a huge interest in him. While he will not be in the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s retention list, SRH could retain Sundar in the IPL auction by using the RTM (Right to Match) card,” a reliable source told TOI.
Sundar recently bagged 11 wickets in a single Test Match against New Zealand. He’s also selected for Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
However, last year he had a dismal outing in IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad. In 2 matches he conceded 73 runs and picked 1 wicket.
Overall, he featured in 60 IPL Matches, scoring 378 runs & taking 37 wickets.
The 25 years old all rounder represented Rising Pune Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad previously. Going to CSK, MI, GT can groom him more.
