Goa: Bengaluru FC will have to come up with a good homework to break their six-game winless strain to face mighty Jamshedpur FC at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim on Monday.

Jamshedpur FC had been the fearful attacking side this season, with four goals coming from the first half of their last match. With a tally of 13 goals, only Mumbai City FC has more goals than Jamshedpur FC in this season of the live-action Indian Super League.

Regarding the former champions as a good rivalry, Jamshedpur FC coach Owen Coyle said, “It will be a tough game against Bengaluru. Of course, we feel we can win. They are a very good side,”. Speaking on Stewart, he said: “Greg Stewart is a wonderful player. That’s why I got him to the football club. I told everybody in the pre-season about his qualities and it’s nice when I am vindicated.”

The Blues showed character in the game against ATK Mohun Bagan which ended with a draw result of 3-3 and that should boost their confidence, but with Jamshedpur, they will have more than just a formidable opponent to deal with.
For Bengaluru, today’s match will be more about getting back into the game and climbing up the ladder of the points table. Focusing on improvement in defense coach Marco Pezzaiuoli said “You can see the morale in the team, we fought until the end in that game. Danish (Farooq) was on the scoresheet, which gives him motivation. We are in a process, where we send young players onto the pitch and I think it gives a lot of energy going into the next match. ”

This game will witness two contrasting styles of playing as Bengaluru plays a possession-based football while Jamshedpur tends not to keep the ball much but attack quickly when they win the ball. For the Blues, Prince Ibara has been in good form and that signifies their good attack. But Jamshedpur have Stewart who scored a hattrick and has four goals and four assists from six games for Jamshedpur this season. The Scottish forward has the most goal contributions so far this season.

Bengaluru are 10th in the 11-team points table with five points from seven games. Jamshedpur are at the other end of the table, positioned at third with 11 points from six games. A win will take Jamshedpur to within one point of Mumbai City FC, though the league leaders will have one game in hand to fight back.
