Professional Cricket League : A league for the professionals

Kolkata : People from different professions meet to play the ‘Professional Cricket League’ in Vivekananda Park, Kolkata. A total of eight teams of different “professions” – Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Chartered Accountants, Architectures, Managements, Actors and Journalists are participating in the competition.

The league of the tournament was played in two groups on February 11 and 12. The championship contenders are Journalists XI and Education XI. These two teams will play in the Diamond Cup final on February 19.

However, there will be four finals in total. All teams participating in the competition will play for one or the other cup. The Bronze Cup is for the fourth-placed team in the two groups, Managements will play against Doctors. Architects and Actors face each other in the Silver Cup game. CA’s vs Advocates is in the Gold Cup Final. And Journalists against Education XI in the highest of them all, the Diamond Cup. Four consecutive finals will be held at Vivekananda Park from 9:30 am on 19th February 2023.

Bengal’s Ranji-winning captain Sambaran Banerjee along with Minister Debashis Kumar, Councilor Asim Basu, Karthik Banerjee and Anjan Ukil were present at the opening of the competition on February 11.
