Kolkata : Quick collapse of Bengal’s batting line up helped Saurashtra to clinch their 2nd Ranji Trophy title, in 3 seasons. Skipper Jaydev Unadkat picked 6 wickets to guide his team to achieve this glory at Eden Gardens.

Coming out to bat on 169-4 , trailing by 61 runs, Manoj Tiwari & Shahbaz Ahmed went off to a flying start, building 48 runs partnership, but the turning point of the match came when Shahbaz Ahmed was run out , things never went in favour of the hosts from this point of time, as Saurashtra’s skipper Jaydev Unadkat wrecked havoc against the Bengal’s lower order, picking the crucial wicket of Manoj Tiwari & cleaning up the the tail quickly, picking up 6 wickets. The last handy last wicket partnership of Ishan Porel & Mukesh Kumar, didn’t help too much as Bengal were bundled on 241 runs, giving a target of 12 runs to Saurashtra.

Saurashtra despite losing an early wicket of Jay Gohil, didn’t seem to be in trouble a they ended the matter within 2.4 overs, & with the winning boundary of Harvik Desai, they achieved the feat. Jaydev Unadkat was adjourned the Man of The Match for his heroics, where as, Saurashtra’s stand in captain, Arpit Vasavada was the player of the series for his amazing Ranji Run.
