Kolkata : BCCI secretary Jay Shah made major revelations regarding future of Day Night Pink Ball Tests in India & that future looks bleak.

India played a total 4 Pink Ball Tests, with 3 in Indian soil against Bangladesh, England and Sri Lanka, with none lasting more than 2-3 days.

Jay Shah therefore, revealed that he’s not keen on hosting Pink Ball Tests in India since they don’t last more than 2-3 days. As a result of which, spectators, broadcasters lose their money as the Tests never go on for 5 days at it should be.

Shah said in an interview, “Pink-ball Tests get over within two days in India. As a result, spectators lose money, broadcasters lose money. We need to look at sentiments also. As a fan, you go to a cricket match and buy a ticket for five days, but the game gets over within two-three days. There is no refund. So, I am slightly emotional in this case”.

Therefore, the future of Day Night Pink Ball  Tests in India is doubtful. India played their 1st Pink Ball Test at Eden Gardens in 2019 against Bangladesh.
