Manchester:Manchester United stood no chance against their rivals Manchester City, as Pep Guardiola’s side defeated United at Old Trafford by 2-0 on Saturday ( November 6).

Eric Bailey scored an own goal and gave City lead of seven minutes. Bailley put Joao Cancelo’s cross behind United’s goalkeeper David de Gea. It was yet another upset infront of their fans since the humiliating 5-0 defeat against Liverpool.

The Spanish keeper produced some great saves to keep the scoreline as narrow as possible for his team. The Red Devils got their chance when Cristiano Ronaldo forced a save out Ederson.

Bernardo Silva sealed the game for his team on 45 minutes when sneaked the ball past de Gea, a deserved goal for the dominating first half performance from Manchester City. With the defeat against two of their arch rivals pressure keeps mounting on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

City kept their dominating performance going in the second half, although could not add anymore goals to their tally. With the definitive win against United, City will walk into the international break with much needed confidence.

“We started the game off badly, of course. Passive. And when they get the first goal, it was always going to be a difficult game anyway,” said under-fire Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. “[Man City] played well, of course. They don’t give you the opportunity to win the ball off them. Some praise goes to them, but we were not at our level. The standard needs to be raised.”
