Kolkata : Liverpool announced signing of Italian forward Federico from Juventus for 4 years deal till 2028 for £12.5m.
Joining Arne Slot’s army he said, “I’m so happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and he said, ‘Do you want to join Liverpool?’ – and the coach called me – I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club, I know what it represents to the fans”.
“So, I’m so happy and I can’t wait to get started.”
Chise was part of Fiorentina’s youth academy & made his debut to the team in 2016. The forward made 151 appearances & 34 goals in the club.
He joined Juventus in 2020 on loan before making a permanent move to the side in 2022, playing 98 matches & scoring 21 goals.
Chiesa was part of Juventus team in Coppa Italia (2020-21, 2023-24), Supercoppa Italiana 2020 wins.
Leaving Juventus, he acknowledged the Club and it’s fans for the support they gave him.
“I’m ready to start this new adventure, I wanted to say goodbye to the Juventus fans,” Chiesa said as he prepared to board a flight from Turin to Liverpool on Wednesday afternoon.
“Thank you for your affection and for these years, I will carry you in my heart and thanks to Juventus”, he added.
In international arena for Italy, he won Euro Cup 2020. His addition to Arne Slot’s plans will be vital for Liverpool.
