
Goa : A commanding Mumbai City FC secure a 4-1 win over Odisha FC at the PNJ Stadium, Fatorda in Indian Super League (ISL).
A blowing half-time between the two
Pushing for an opening goal, Mumbai City was denied for two early penalties. There were some major blow backs from both the teams till half-hour mark. Jerry Mawihmingthanga came extremely close to opening the scoring but Mandar Dessai denied him with a last-ditch clearance right after the drinks break.
The Islanders broke the deadlock. Igor Angulo scored in the 41st minute. Odisha defenders left the Spaniard unmarked inside the box. Receiving a cross from Rahul Bheke, Igor easily head past goalkeeper. Victor Mongil, was near to an equaliser but it went off-target. Mumbai maintained their lead in the first-half.
Mumbai menaced over Odisha in the second-half
Odisha conceded the second goal in the 2nd minute from the half-time. Bipin Singh (47′) found the back of the net with a feeder from Ahmed Jahouh. The goal came from an extremely tight angle. Bipin and Igor combined to score the third for Islanders. Angulo (71′) weaved past a couple of defenders and calmly put his left-footed shot in the bottom right corner.

The Islanders were denied from the clean sheet by Jonathas (90+1′). He found the back of the net with a sensational curling effort from long range four minutes before the final whistle.
Mumbai in top-four
The Islanders jump into the fourth position on the table. But, the Kalinga Warriors remain stuck in seventh place. Odisha to face a struggling Chennaiyin FC in their next fixture at the Tilak Maidan Stadium. Mumbai City FC clashes with fellow top-four contenders Jamshedpur FC at the Athletic Stadium.
