Kolkata: Eden Gardens is set to host its first international cricket match since the Pink-ball day-night Test in November 2019. India is set to play New Zealand in the third and final T20I of the bilateral series here on Sunday. This will be the biggest sporting event in the city, with spectators back in attendance after the Durand Cup final was played between Mohammedan SC and FC Goa in October.
It goes without saying that Indian cricket fans adore the former skipper of the format Virat Kohli. Despite the fact that Kohli had chosen out of this event, fans flocked to the stadium wearing his jersey.
The Delhi born player Kohli retired from T20 captaincy and Rohit Sharma now leads the men in blue in this format. Fans, however, could not stop showering him with affection, and today Edens witnessed a new history in which it was explicitly declared that India’s cricket match could not be complete without Kohli.
