Ind vs SL: Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Chahar ruled out of T20 series

 New Delhi: In a massive setback for the Indian cricket team as their in-form batsman Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Chahar have been ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20Is against Sri Lanka due to injuries.

After dismissing the West Indies openers in the run chase, Chahar walked off the field holding his hamstring without completing his second over in the 3rd T20I on Sunday. Chahar is ruled out and will complete rehab at NCA.

On the other hand, Suryakumar, who had an excellent series against the West Indies, emerging as the Player of the Series has suffered a hairline fracture on his hand and has been declared unfit for the white-ball series. According to reports, it is understood that he sustained the injury while fielding in the third T20I against West Indies at the Eden Gardens.
“He is ruled out of the series and will complete his rehab at NCA,”  a BCCI official said.

Replacement is unlikely to happen for due to the bio-bubble security keeping the current Covid situation in mind. After the first game on February 24, the next two T20Is will be played in Dharamsala on February 26 and 27.
