London : England’s all Round dominance help them defeat arch rival Australia at Lord’s, London by 186 runs in a rain curtailed encounter in 4th ODI. This is the 2nd consecutive win of England in the 5 Match ODI Series, after trailing 2-0.
Defending 313 runs in DLS curtailed 39 overs, England saw Travis Head (34) & Mitchell Marsh (28) giving a quick start as both built 68 runs partnership in 8.4 overs.
The match began to turn with Head’s wicket off Brydon Carse (3/36).
After Head’s dismissal, Carse, Jofra Archer (2/33) accompanied by 4-fer of Matthew Potts (4/38) demolished the Aussie middle order and the Men in Yellow were bundled out for just 126 runs.
In 1st Innings, Ben Duckett (63) & skipper Harry Brook (87) played outstanding knocks.
Liam Livingstone (62*) however, gave a proper finishing touch to the innings with his knock, that included 7 big sixes and a 28 runs over against Mitchell Starc.
The joint efforts posted the mammoth 312 runs for England.
Brook was adjourned the Man of The Match for his match winning knock.
The teams will face each other on September 29 in the series decider in 5th ODI.
