In the 2024-25 Sheffield Shield season, he showcased his match-winning capabilities, sealing Tasmania’s first win with two crucial late wickets against New South Wales.
His contributions this summer include 448 runs at an impressive average of 56 and 16 wickets.
“(Webster) is a special player at the moment,” Tasmanian captain Jordan Silk told reporters after the domestic game, where Webster equalled Sobber’s record.
“Anytime I feel like we’re in trouble, I feel like I can throw him the ball, and he just seems to be able to create something, or anytime we’re in similar trouble with the bat, then he’s able to dig us out of it. He showed his class again this game with valuable runs, first and second innings, and then obviously to take the last two wickets”, concluded Silk.
Uncapped Webster has been one of the best All-rounder in Australian Domestic Cricket. Due to his form, records and versatility, he has received the call in the squad.
