Madrid: Atletico Madrid’s Argentine manager Diego Simeone has been tested positive for coronavirus on Friday, during a routine check-up with the team. The manager was asymptomatic and in-home isolation.

The club in a statement, “Friday new PCR tests were carried out on the whole group and the manager has given a positive result. Fortunately, our manager is not showing any symptoms and is at his home isolating and fulfilling the required quarantine.”
Another member from the Atletico staff has been tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. Before this, club forward Diego Costa was tested positive and even before their Champions League quarterfinal clash with RB Leipzig, two of the squad members were tested positive for coronavirus.
The La Liga season for Atletico will begin from September 27 against Granada, at the Wanda Metropolitano (home game). So they are hoping for a quick recovery of their players and their manager.
