Kolkata : India started their Asian Champions Trophy 2024 campaign with 3-0 win over host China.
Sukhjeet, Uttam and Abhishek Singh scored the goals for the Indian team.
Chinese however, gave tough counterattacks to the Indian side throughout the match. However, the duo of Jugraj & Sukhjeet Singh saw the last laugh in 1st Quarter as the duo helped India take the lead, with Sukhjeet netting the 1st goal.
In 2nd Quarter, India doubled the lead with Uttam Singh making the most of a poor clearance inside the box and unleashed a shot past the goalkeeper.
In 3rd quarter, Abhishek helped India make 3-0 , confirming a win for India.
The rest of the match didn’t see any of the teams not scoring a goal. Although Abhishek and Jugraj made chances they didn’t convert.
None the less, the defending champion India started off their campaign with sheer dominant display to hammer host China.
