Kolkata : Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has joined English County side Northamptonshire Steelbacks for final One Day Cup against Kent & remaining 5 County Championship Fixtures.
Chahal will join up with the squad ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Canterbury before being available for the rest of the red-ball campaign.
Chahal has been the highest wicket taker for India in T20Is with 96 wickets. He’s also the highest wicket taker in IPL with 205 wickets.
He had a stint with Kent in the 2023 County Championship after not being selected for the 2023 Asia Cup. He picked up 9 wickets in 2 matches at an average of 27.33.
“Yuzvendra is another high-profile overseas player who brings with him a wealth of experience and some incredible skills. His record speaks for itself and his wicket-taking ability will add strength to our attack,” Northamptonshire head coach John Sadler said.
Chahal will join his Indian mate Prithvi Shaw in the team & is eyeing an international comeback.
