Kolkata : Indian Batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi inscribed his name into the history books, becoming youngest player to feature his name in IPL auction history at the age of 13.
BCCI on November 15, 2024 released the final list of 574 players for IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah on November 24 and 25.
Among the big names, 13 years old Suryavanshi stands out as notable inclusion.
The left-handed prolific batter, who occupies the 491st spot on the list, is part of the uncapped batter category (UBA9) and was named in the 68th set of players.
His rise to heights in Cricket drew attention of experts since his First-Class debut for Bihar in January 2024.
Suryavanshi drew more applauds owing to his heroics during the India U19 vs Australia U19 Youth Test series held in September and October. In the first match, he scored a magnificent century, a stellar show, that attracted lots of Cricket experts eyes on him.
In his overall First-Class career, he has played 5 matches, & scored 100 runs across 10 innings, with a highest score of 41.
Suryavanshi is also part of India’s squad for the U19 Asia Cup, set to begin in November. India will kick start their campaign against arch rival Pakistan on November 30, 2024.
If Suryavanshi scores consistently in upcoming opportunities, franchises will be seen having bidding wars for him.
