Mumbai: India’s Test captain Virat Kohli has yet to arrive at the team’s Mumbai hotel. Before departing for Johannesburg on December 16, all players should begin a three-day quarantine. According to Insidesport, he has been neglecting selectors and the BCCI’s calls in recent days.

The team had a brief training session in Mumbai on Sunday, but the captain was not present. “Virat was obviously informed. But he hasn’t joined the camp. We expect him to join tomorrow. The players will enter a three-day bio-bubble before traveling to Johannesburg,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport on Sunday.

The official dismissed the allegation when he was asked about Virat ignoring their calls.

“Why should a player ignore our calls. He is a professional cricketer and will join shortly. But of course, he should have returned the calls,” the official told InsideSport.

Kohli is yet to congratulate Rohit Sharma on his selection as India’s new ODI captain.
