Bengaluru : Mumbai defeated Baroda 6 wickets at Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, in Semi Final 1 of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 and qualified for final. Ajinkya Rahane’s 98 (56) played pivotal role in Mumbai’s victory.

Baroda Batting 1st got handy contributions from skipper Krunal Pandya (30), Shashwat Rawat (33), Shivalik Sharma (36*) at top order. Their innings saw a collapse between 9-15 overs where they were reduced from 73-1 to 103-6.

Shivalik and Atit Sheth (22) scored runs partnership in last 5 overs to take Baroda to 158-7 (20).

Mumbai chasing 159, despite losing Prithvi Shaw (8) early, was brought to winning position with 88 runs partnership between Ajinkya Rahane (98) & skipper Shreyas Iyer (46).

Even after Iyer’s dismissal on 118 runs, Rahane continued his exploits and powered Mumbai past winning mark.

Rahane was adjourned the man of the match for his heroics.
