Malappuram: West Bengal Football Team defeated Manipur, 3-0 in the semifinals of the 75th Santosh Trophy National Championship to bolster in to the finals at Manjeri Payyanad Stadium. Goals from Fardin Ali Molla, Sujit Singh and Dilip Orson sealed the victory for the West Bengal.

Manipur gave it an almighty effort in the second half, but West Bengal get the victory in the end, as Kerala awaits them in the final!

The side went on to an early double lead as early as the seventh minute when Fardin Ali Molla slotted past a powerful shot within five minutes of Sujit Singh scoring. Although Manipur held onto the score for quite sometime, with their custodian being tested quite sometime, the heroics of Captain Monotosh Chakladar along with Suvankar Adhikary kept the Manipur attack at bay.
However, West Bengal is set to face their group rivals Kerala in the final encounter of the game. Kerala were only the opponents against whom the West Bengal team fell short to. However, Ranjan Bhattacharjee and co. will look forward to over turn the result.
