Mumbai: Batting great Sachin Tendulkar has praised both India and New Zealand for their performance in the first Test match played in Kanpur. This test match between India and New Zealand lasted till the last ball. And finally New Zealand was successful in getting this match drawn.
In five days of play, sometimes one team had the upper hand and sometimes the other team was seen moving forward. India took New Zealand’s nine wickets in the second innings but the last wicket partnership kept India away from victory. Debutant Rachin Ravindra and Ejaz Patel playing out 52 balls in the final session of Day 5 to ensure a draw. Ravindra faced 91 deliveries to score 18 runs and Ajaz Patel( 2 off 23).
Tendulkar hailed the batters for their valuable effort, and reckoned that batting on the fifth day’s wicket in India is very difficult.
Both #TeamIndia and #NewZealand had their backs against the wall at various stages of this game and both teams fought hard to come back into the game,” said Tendulkar in a tweet.

To survive 52 balls on the last day of the Test was commendable. This is what makes Test match cricket fascinating.#INDvNZ
