Leeds: Leeds United will be looking to register their first win of the Premier League 2021-22 season when they host Liverpool at Elland Road. Liverpool will also be going out all guns blazed to return back to their winning way after drawing with Chelsea before the international break.

As for Leeds, their defensive issues from the last season seemed to have continued as it was exposed in the side’s first three matches, losing 5-1 to Manchester United and drawing the next two against Everton and Burnley.

Liverpool, on the other hand, had a promising start to their season registering wins against Norwich City and Burnley. Although they were halted in their path after playing out a  frustrating draw against Chelsea in spite of having a numerical advantage for a major part of the game. Jurgen Klopp will be looking to set the tempo straight once again.

Leeds won both their matches against Liverpool in the 2000-01 season since then they are yet to win a match during their last eight meets. Liverpool has won five matches and three ended in a draw. Also, to favor the Reds, Liverpool has won seven of their last eight away games.

Liverpool will be missing Roberto Firmino due to injury, which automatically makes Diogo Jota a certain starter, and is expected to lead the front line of his team. With the five-day ban not yet put into motion for Brazilian players, it is to be seen if Alisson Becker and Fabinho will be allowed to feature for them.

Leeds would also have the service of Stuart Dallas,  in spite of missing International duties due to his personal reason. For the reason same as Becker and Fabinho, the service of Rapinha is also questionable. Daniel James could also be handed his Leeds debut by Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds United possible starting lineup:
Meslier; Ayling, Llorente, Cooper, Firpo; Phillips; Harrison, Dallas, Klich, Raphinha; Bamford

Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Elliott; Mane, Jota, Salah
