Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Bengal vs Kerala, Day 4 : Bengal and Kerala battle out neck to neck to settle for draw

Kolkata : Bengal and Kerala, after intense fight in a rain curtailed match had to settle for a draw in Day 4 of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 at Jadavpur Campus, Kolkata.

Kerala started the Day with 267-7. Pair of Mohammad Azarudden (30*) & Salman Nizar (64*) were well settled at the crease.

The duo of Salman (95*) & Azarudden (84) added 80 runs more to the total. As soon as the later and Nidheesh (0) fell, Kerala declared at 356 runs. Ishan Porel finished with spell of 6/103.

Coming to Bat in 2nd innings, Bengal openers – Shuvam Dey (67) & Sudip Chatterjee (57) put on a formidable show.

Despite a short collapse of 3 wickets, skipper Anustup Majumdar (21*) & Sudip Gharami (31*) played fine knocks to ensure a tie, taking Bengal to 181-3.

Ishan Porel was adjourned Man of The Match for his heroic spell.

Bengal will next face Karnataka while Kerala will lock horns against Uttar Pradesh, on November 6, 2024.
