Paris : In a close encounter, Indian duo of Manu Bhaker & Sarabjot Singh qualified for 10 M Air Pistol Shooting (Mixed) Bronze Medal Match. They delivered a stellar performance with a commendable score of 580.
Bhaker and Singh demonstrated excellent consistency and precision across their two series, especially Bhaker, who maintained near-perfect scores with two consecutive 98s. Sarabjot’s contribution with a solid 95 in the first series and an improved 97 in the second was crucial in ensuring their top-four finish. The pair posted a combined score of 193 in the first series and improved to 195 in the second series and 192 in the third series showcasing their ability to perform under pressure.
In contrast, the second Indian team comprising Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema ended their qualification journey in the 10th position with a total score of 576-14x. Despite a strong start with a combined 194 in the first series, their performance dipped slightly in the second series, which impacted their overall standing.
Sangwan posted a 97 in the first series and an impressive 99 in the second series, but Cheema’s scores of 97 and 92 were not enough to keep them in contention for the medal rounds.
The duo of Bhaker – Sarabjot will face South Korean pair of Ye Jin Oh and Wonho Lee, who finished just a point behind with 579-18x. The finals are scheduled on 30th July at 13:00 IST.
